He saw devastation and realized something needed to be done to reduce the death and destruction resulting from these storms. After experimentation and research he developed a product which would reduce the devastation caused by storms and worked with the insurance companies, legislatures and others to demonstrate the benefits which could be realized from the use of this product. Soon both the insurances companies and various state legislative bodies began requiring the use of this product, thus the industry was born.
