I started a new business this year and I am seeking a partner. A broker has contacted me to say he may have a potential partner. However, I have never used a broker before and I dont know how they operate. This broker has informed me that there is a signing fee plus additional funds after signing the deal. If however, I dont strike a deal with this person, he will continue to search for a partner for me for another 3 months. Is this the norm in using a business broker? I have not shopped around for brokers (which is what I am about to do now) so I dont know how they operate what is their normal fee structure.

Maybe you can talk to Zack from Zack & Zul (http://www.zacknzul.com). We have dealt with him and he has guides us well.
