I have a close friend who wants to sale his Fire Restoration Construction Business in Illinois. He wants to move back to Poland. The business grossed $1.6M in 2013. His net was $265K. I have a signed agreement with him. He agreed to pay me 20% if I find him a buyer. And anything over the purchase price he wants another 30%. I wish I could purchase the business myself because of all the bells & whistles that come with the purchase. How do I promote the business without being circumvented. Is there a way to record the contract so I will be protected. I trust him, but I don't know about others.
