Looking for investor and or partner to start a food business, growing food. Going into the future the one market that is and will be consistent is that people have to eat. The one market that has not lost jobs is agriculture. I collect seeds. For the past year I have collected/bought the seeds for about 130 types of vegetables, 250 types of herbs, 50 types of trees, etc.. Of these types I have approximately 5000 + strains. Example: I have 227 different strains of tomato seeds. One type: Beefsteak, Inventory: 1lb (1lb = 176,000 seeds) Now you can see what I am getting at... I have over 250 pounds of seeds. I live in Montrose, Colorado. Its a high desert with an almost unlimited supply of water coming in from the Rocky Mountains. Drive down any street and its farm after farm. Each property usually comes with water shares. Here is the proposal, this is what I need: To rent/lease farm property, rent/lease/build greenhouses. Cover expenses: tractor, compost, nursery supplies, soil, monthly bills for business. Vision: 1. Start a nursery: People will be looking for starter plants and growing in their backyard like never before. There is a local lack of starter plants to fill this need. To do this we must rent a local lot, put up a tent/greenhouse. Secure business license, etc. 2. What does not sell goes right into the ground plus more to start the farming. Plant 10 acres of sweet corn for a stable revenue crop. Have an acre each of tomatoes, greens, beans, chilies, potatoes. Multiple acres of melons/squash/pumpkins and corn. Needed: 30 acres, already have 7. 3. Go back to the nursery location, sell produce. Also secure 3 other roadside locations in surrounding cities. I Have connections to sell large quantities of produce to restaurants, markets, etc. 4. Store, can, freeze and freeze-dry what does not sell. Give away to local people/churches excess produce. I have talked and listened both locally and online to people who are struggling and have a mindset about growing food next year. I have moved to where I am because of the ability to grow food. There is a need for growing good food, now more than ever. There is a need for growing local food people can afford. But there is also a lot of money to be made in being the supplier of that food. I have invested a year of my family's life and time and have about $50,000 invested in seeds to get where I am today. I have made connections with farmers, land owners and others that can help this business, what is lacking is a small amount of funding to do what is stated above and more. We are not talking about a huge investment. People have offered their land, free of charge where we can grow food and more people will do so. Land is not the problem. It’s the tools. There are many ways that this venture/business can grow, it has a wide range of possibilities. Preston - 970-209-9201
