For anyone toying with the idea of getting into a business but feel that natural swell of fear holding them back, an absolute must read is "Rich Dad Poor Dad". This incredible book is so enjoyable and easy to read, yet it is unbelievably powerful in breaking down the doors of self doubt and puts some very complex isuues on the table in a very easy to understand format.
WARNING WARNING WARNING!!! Some people will read this and be insulted, thats fine. But for others, their world will never be the same. The problem with knowledge is that you cant give it back. Be advised, this book can drive you insane and should only be read by both spouses if your involved in a relationship because it will change you so dramatically that you can start to feel like your working in two different directions. If your serious about joining the business community, make sure you spouse is on board 100% because its going to take all you have to give plus another 125%. And only read this book if you really want to start a business, or you will just be left frustrated. To know what you should be doing to help your own situation but doing nothing about it can lead to severe depression. I AM SERIOUS ON THIS!!!
Now for those who have been running their business on the red line for a while and feel they are ready for that next big exploratory move in their business, a must read is "The E-Myth Revisited." This book will bring you down a path within your business like you would not believe. This book is the blueprint for bringing "Larrys house of burgers" metaphorically, into the realm of "McDonalds." The concepts are universally appliable to any business and are totally transformational. Within the first chapter your business will begin changing in your mind, after that its just about the time effort and commitment towards your business as you enter into a whole new world. The concepts of this book can lead to your company being a global player, or simply the premiere business in your area, which is just great. You will have your work cut out for you, and it does take work, but not necassarily any money to create a powerful business, just vision and a blueprint on what to do. Vision is the stepping stone to creation.
