Up for sale: i have a well established bridal/prom boutique. It has been in business for about four years now, and is real money maker. Even in an economy as bad the one we are in now, the bridal industry is totally recession proof. Soon to be brides will always need a wedding dress and will of course get the dress that they always dreamed of wearing when they were a little girls. High school seniors will of course need a dress for the prom they awaited so long to attend. And remember, no matter how bad the economy is, these types of customers will always get what they want and are not concerned with price. In my bridal store, we have many designers from the top of the line Justin Alexander and Winnie couture, to the very moderately priced Mary's bridal. I would say that the majority of my samples are from Mary's bridal. We have many new pieces from them, as well as a few older pieces that have been carried over to each new season. All of my samples in bridal are no older than 3 seasons. And even dresses that are not from the current season will always continue to be a hit with brides that are looking for something a bit more affordable, or even to those types of brides who set their eye on a particular dress maybe a few years back and do not care about what the new styles are. We also have about 100 prom dresses total in the store. All of these dresses are from the current prom year. The designers range from sherry couture, kiss kiss formals, Milano formals, and Dave and Johnny. Prom season is a hectic time of year for many bridal store owners but if you advertise correctly, and know how to sell, you can at least make double of what you invested into your inventory.
