Over the past six years I've worked exhaustively to secure my small business' place here in the very competitive Saskatoon market, and now it's time to hand the torch to someone else to take things to the next level. Unfortunately, I simply don't have the time to focus on it the way it deserves, as I'm currently working on building another business.

Vending is far trickier than you can imagine, so it's incredibly important that you do the research before getting into it. Some things to navigate are the lure of franchises (avoid!), low quality machines (poor construction, low grade hardware and/or software), not having a plan or knowledge before jumping in, and the biggest aspect people invariably don't realize is how much time it takes to establish a route, and develop relationships to get into solid locations. Seriously, it takes a ton of time to identify, source, approach, uncover the decision maker, sell to the decision maker, and finally move into new locations, especially the good ones…I'm talking months, or even years, particularly if you do this part time. And that's one of the most important aspects of this business. Without good locations, your business is essentially worthless.

The price I've listed might seem high, but remember, this is for the full business. And you're also probably comparing it to unplaced machines, or to low-grade machines placed in mediocre locations. So, if you see a low price tag, there's a reason. The locations are a large component of a machine's valuation. Without a location, they're just expensive refrigerators.
