I think forums are more structured than message boards or the one or two I have seen. I prefer the ease if a forum and use them often when I have multiple parties to address and for managing partnerships. It makes managing a business owned by several investors much easier. Plus you can easily lock out prying eyes if you want and keep it totally private and invite only. This makes it nice when discussing money.

Message boards and forums are both online platforms for people to communicate, discuss topics, and share ideas. The main difference between the two is that message boards generally have a more limited functionality than forums, which can have different categories, user levels, discussions in threads, and more.
